Abstract: This article introduces the clinical experience of WAN Quanqing, the chief traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) physician, in treating chronic nonspecific low back pain with acupuncture and medicine combined with bonesetting and exercise. Director WAN Quanqing believes that chronic nonspecific low back pain belongs to the category of impediment syndrome in TCM, which is mainly caused by blood- stasis low back pain due to chronic strain. With the consideration of modern medical etiology,muscle imbalance and joint instability are also important factors of chronic nonspecific low back pain. The treatment should follow the principle of "treating both muscles and bones simultaneously and treating the symptom and root cause simultaneously", with the oral administration of Chinese medicine, the bonesetting manipulation to correct the disorder of joint structure,and acupotomy for the local release of adhesion to improve blood circulation,and take the training of core muscle group as adjuvant therapy, so that a good curative effect can be obtained.
