Clinical Study on Auricular Point Seed-Pressing Combined with Acupoint Application with Chinese Medicine for Hemodialysis with Gastrointestinal Discomfort
Abstract: Objective: To observe the clinical effect of auricular point seed- pressing combined with acupoint application with Chinese medicine for hemodialysis (HD) with gastrointestinal discomfort. Methods:A total of 134 cases of patients with chronic renal failure receiving HD treatment were selected and divided into the observation group and the control group according to the random number table method, with 67 cases in each group. The control group was treated with acupoint application with Chinese medicine, and the observation group was additionally treated with auricular point seed-pressing based on the treatment of the control group. Both groups were treated for 3 months. Clinical effect was evaluated in the two groups. Symptom scores and the levels of motilin, substance P, and nutritional indicators (albumin, hemoglobin) were compared between the two groups before and after treatment. Results:After treatment, the healing and effective rate was 95.52% in the observation group, higher than that of 85.07% in the control group (P<0.05). The scores of vomiting immediately after eating and stuffiness and distension of stomach cavity in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P < 0.05) , the above 2 scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). The levels of motilin, substance P, and albumin in serum and hemoglobin in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05),and the above 4 levels in the observation group were higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion: Auricular point seed- pressing combined with acupoint application with Chinese medicine can relieve gastrointestinal discomfort in HD patients and improve their nutritional status.
