Abstract：Objective：To observe the effect of point massage combined with moxibustion on abdominal distension after operation for thoracolumbar fracture. Methods： A total of 158 cases of patients with abdominal distension after operation for thoracolumbar fracture were selected and divided into the control group and the observation group according to the random number table method， with 79 cases in each group. The control group was intervened with routine nursing，and the observation group was additionally treated with point massage combined with moxibustion based on the treatment of the control group. Both groups were treated for 10 days. The clinical effects，the remission time of clinical symptoms，depression scores，anxiety scores，quality of life scores，and treatment satisfaction were compared between the two groups. Results： After treatment， the total effective rate was 97.47% in the observation group， higher than that of 87.34% in the control group (P＜0.05). The first anal exhaust time，the first defecation time， and the remission time of abdominal distension in the observation group were earlier than those in the control group (P＜0.05). The scores of anxiety and depression in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P＜0.05)， and the scores of anxiety and depression in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P＜0.05). The scores of mental health， emotional function， vitality， and social function in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment (P＜0.05)， and the scores of mental health， emotional function， vitality， and social function in the observation group were higher than those in the control group (P＜0.05). The total satisfaction degree of treatment was 96.20% in the observation group，higher than that of 86.08% in the control group (P＜0.05). Conclusion：Point massage combined with moxibustion for abdominal distension after operation for thoracolumbar fracture can relieve the clinical symptoms and negative emotion of patients，and improve their quality of life and treatment satisfaction.
