Abstract： To analyze the thoughts and methods of clinical application of buccal acupuncture in the treatment of chronic pulmonary diseases. The main pathological change of chronic pulmonary diseases is lung qi failing to diffuse and govern descent. Thus，in clinical treatment，diffusing lung qi and directing qi downward，and regulating qi movement of the whole body should be stressed. In the treatment of chronic pulmonary diseases by buccal acupuncture， the general principle of point selection is selecting spinal points，points of triple energizers and target points in accordance with different symptoms；the selection of spinal points is guided by holographic theory，and meridian and collateral theory；the selection of points of triple energizers is guided by visceral syndrome differentiation combined with abdominal examination； the selection of target points is guided by finding pain lesions. In the course of treatment，attention should be paid to regulating the emotions of patients， which can effectively improve the clinical symptoms of patients with chronic pulmonary diseases.
