Clinical Study on Acupuncture Method of Regulating Spleen and Kidney Combined with Routine Western Medicine for Idiopathic Membranous Nephropathy of Spleen- Kidney Deficiency Type
Abstract: Objective: To observe the curative effect of acupuncture method of regulating spleen and kidney combined with routine western medicine for idiopathic membranous nephropathy of spleen-kidney deficiency type. Methods: A total of 118 cases of patients with idiopathic membranous nephropathy of spleen- kidney deficiency type were selected for a prospective study, and they were divided into two groups according to the random number table method, with 59 cases in each group. The control group was treated with routine western medicine, and the combination group was treated with acupuncture method of regulating spleen and kidney combined with routine western medicine. Both groups were treated for 6 months. Before and after treatment, the traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) syndrome scores were evaluated, and 24-hour urine protein (24h-UTP),kidney function indexes [serum creatinine (SCr),serum albumin (Alb)] and blood lipid indexes [triglyceride (TG), total cholesterol (TC)] were detected. The clinical effects and incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results: After treatment, the total effective rate in the combination group was higher than that in the control group (P< 0.05). After a 3-month treatment, the TCM syndrome scores and the levels of 24h-UTP,SCr,TG and TC in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05), and the Alb levels were increased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05). The TCM syndrome scores and the levels of 24h-UTP,SCr,TG and TC in the combination group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05), and the Alb level was higher than that in the control group (P<0.05). After a 6- month treatment, the TCM scores and the levels of 24h- UTP, SCr, TG and TC in the two groups were decreased when compared with those after a 3-month treatment (P<0.05). The TCM syndrome scores and the levels of 24h- UTP, SCr, TG and TC in the combination group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05), and the Alb level was higher than that in the control group (P<0.05). There was no statistically significant difference being found in the comparison of incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups (P>0.05). Conclusion:Acupuncture method of regulating spleen and kidney combined with routine western medicine for idiopathic membranous nephropathy of deficiency of both spleen and kidney type can effectively improve kidney function, reduce proteinuria, regulate blood lipid, relieve symptoms, and has good safety.
