Clinical Study of Qingxinpi Granules Combined with Routine Western Medicine for Herpetic Stomatitis in Children with Syndrome of Excess Heat in the Heart and Spleen
Abstract: Objective: To observe the clinical effect of Qingxinpi Granules combined with routine western medicine for herpetic stomatitis in children with syndrome of excess heat in the heart and spleen. Methods:A total of 80 cases of children with herpetic stomatitis and syndrome of excess heat in the heart and spleen were selected and divided into the treatment group and the control group according to the random odd- even number method, with 40 cases in each group. The control group was treated with Arabinoid Adenosine Monophosphate, Lysozyme Enteric Coated Tablets, and other routine western medicines, and the treatment group was additionally treated with Qingxinpi Granules based on the treatment of the control group. After 7-day treatment, clinical effects, traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) syndrome scores, the remission time of symptoms, and the levels of serum inflammatory factors including C- reactive protein (CRP), interleukin- 10 (IL- 10), and tumor necrosis factor- α (TNF- α) were evaluated in the two groups. Results: The total effective rate was 97.50% in the treatment group and 85.00% in the control group, the difference being significant (P<0.05). Before treatment, there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of TCM syndrome scores between the two groups (P> 0.05). After treatment, TCM syndrome scores in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05),and the TCM syndrome scores in the treatment group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the time to reduce the fever, resolve herpes, relieve pain, and resumed diet in the treatment group was shorter than that in the control group, differences being significant (P<0.05). After treatment, the levels of CRP and TNF- α in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05), and the levels of IL- 10 were increased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05); the levels of CRP and TNF- α in the treatment group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05),and the IL-10 level in the treatment group was higher than that in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion:Qingxinpi Granules combined with routine western medicine has a definite curative effect in the treatment of herpetic stomatitis in children with syndrome of excess heat in the heart and spleen. It can relieve inflammatory responses of the body and promote the remission of clinical symptoms and signs.
