Abstract：Objective：To observe the clinical effect of the therapy of Zhishang Capsules combined with open reduction and internal fixation on early calcaneal intra-articular fracture. Methods ： A total of 80 patients with calcaneal intra- articular fracture were selected and divided into the treatment group and the control group according to the random number table method， with 40 cases in each group. The two groups were given open reduction and internal fixation for treatment， after which the control group was treated with routine antibiotics in case of infection and the treatment group was additionally given Zhishang Capsules based on the treatment of the control group. The recovery of operation and post- operative recovery， including the form time of fracture callus， operation time， healing time of incision and blood loss， post- operative indexes of bone morphology， including Bohler angle， Gissane angle and calcaneal width， changes of symptoms and signs， clinical effects and incidence of adverse reactions before and after treatment were compared between the two groups. Results：The total effective rate was 95.00% in the treatment group and 80.00% in the control group，the difference being significant (P＜0.05). The form time of fracture callus and healing time of incision in the treatment group were shorter than those in the control group (P＜0.05)， and there was no significant difference being found in the comparisons of operation time and blood loss between the two groups (P＞0.05)；after treatment，the Bohler angle and Gissane angle in the treatment group were greater than those in the control group (P＜0.05)；there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of calcaneal width between the two groups (P＞0.05). Before treatment， there was no significant difference being found in the comparisons of scores of pain， swelling，ecchymosis and dysfunction between the two groups (P＞0.05)；after treatment，the above four scores of symptoms and signs in both groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P＜0.05)，and the above four scores in the treatment group were lower than those in the control group (P＜ 0.05). During treatment，the incidence of adverse reactions was 7.50% in the treatment group and 10.00% in the control group， there being no significance in the difference (P＞0.05). Conclusion： The therapy of Zhishang Capsules combined with open reduction and internal fixation has a significant curative effect on calcaneal intra- articular fracture， which can shorten the postoperative recovery time， promote the recovery of osteological features of patients，enhance the foot function.
