Abstract：Objective：To observe the effect of the therapy of Zuogui Pills combined with Xiaoyao Pills on the treatment of menopausal syndrome (MPS) of liver- kidney yin deficiency type. Methods：A total of 130 MPS patients of liver- kidney yin deficiency type were included and divided into the control group and the study group according to random number table method， with 65 patients in each group. The control group was given Femoston Tablets， and the study group was additionally treated with Zuogui Pills combined with Xiaoyao Pills. Both groups were treated for 84 days. The reproductive hormones，including follicle stimulating hormone (FSH)， estradiol (E2)， luteinizing hormone (LH)， testosterone (T)， prolactin (PRL) and progesterone (P)， were detected before and after treatment； the clinical effects in the two groups were compared and the incidence of adverse medicinal reactions during treatment was observed. Results： After treatment， the total effective rate in the study group was higher than that in the control group (P＜0.05). The contents of serum FSH，LH and T in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P＜0.05)，and the contents of E2 and P were increased when compared with those before treatment (P＜0.05). The contents of serum FSH， LH and T in the study group were lower than those in the control group，and the contents of E2 and P were higher than those in the control group， differences being significant (P＜0.05). The incidence of adverse medicinal reactions in the study group was lower than that in the control group (P＜0.05). Conclusion： The therapy of Zuogui Pills combined with Xiaoyao Pills can effectively relieve the clinical symptoms of MPS patients of liver- kidney yin deficiency type，improve ovarian reserve function，regulate reproductive hormone secretion levels，reduce the risk of adverse medicinal reactions and improve the safety of treatment.
