Effects of Angong Niuhuang Pills on Neurological Function,Inflammatory Factors and Quality of Life in Patients After Operation for Hypertensive Intracerebral Hemorrhage
Abstract: Objective: To observe the effect of Angong Niuhuang Pills on neurological function, inflammatory factors and quality of life in patients after operation for hypertensive intracerebral hemorrhage (HICH). Methods:A total of 80 cases of patients with HICH were divided into the control group and the observation group according to the random number table method , with 40 cases in each group. The control group was given routine treatment after operation, and the observation group was additionally treated with Angong Niuhuang Pills based on the treatment of the control group. The levels of inflammatory factors including interleukin- 6 (IL- 6), interleukin- 8 (IL- 8) and tumor necrosis factor- α (TNF- α), neurofunctional factors including neuron- specific enolase (NSE), neuropeptide (NP) Y and brain- derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF-α),National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) scores,Activities of Daily Living (ADL) scores, clinical effects, and the incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results: The total effective rate of treatment was 95.00% in the observation group and 77.50% in the control group, the difference being significant (P<0.05). Before treatment, there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of the levels of IL- 6, IL- 8 and TNF- α in serum between the two groups (P>0.05). After treatment, the levels of IL-6,IL-8 and TNF-α in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05),and the above three levels in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). Before treatment, there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of the levels of NSE,NPY and BDNF in serum between the two groups (P>0.05). After treatment, the levels of NSE and NPY in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05), and the levels of BDNF in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05); the improvement of the above three levels in the observation group was more significant than that in the control group (P<0.05). Before treatment, there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of the scores of NIHSS and ADL between the two groups (P>0.05). After treatment,NIHSS scores in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05),and ADL scores in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05);the improvement of the scores of NIHSS and ADL in the observation group was more significant than that in the control group (P<0.05). The incidence of adverse reactions was 7.50% in the observation group and 25.00% in the control group, the difference being significant (P<0.05). Conclusion: The adjuvant therapy of Angong Niuhuang Pills for patients after HICH operation can improve their neurological function, reduce the levels of inflammatory factors and enhance the quality of life, with fewer adverse reactions.
