Abstract: Objective: To observe the clinical effect of coagulation of herbal decoction combined with western medicine for patients after low- temperature plasma radiofrequency ablation and its effects on pharyngeal recovery. Methods:A total of 300 cases of patients with tonsillitis who were to be treated by low- temperature plasma radiofrequency ablation were divided into the control group and the trial group according to the random number table method, with 150 cases in each group. Both groups were treated with low-temperature plasma radiofrequency ablation;the control group was treated with routine western medicine after the surgery, and the trial group was additionally treated with coagulation of herbal decoction based on the treatment of the control group. The time of mucosa detumescence, pseudomenbrane detachment, and the recovery of normal diet after the surgery were compared between the two groups. The scores of Visual Analogue Scale (VAS),traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) syndrome scores, and the levels of interleukin- 6 (IL- 6) and tumor necrosis factor- α (TNF- α) were compared before and after treatment between the two groups. Clinical effects and the incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results: The total effective rate in the trial group was higher than that in the control group (P<0.05),and the time of mucosa detumescence, pseudomenbrane detachment, and the recovery of normal diet after the surgery in the trial group were shorter than those in the control group (P< 0.05). After treatment,TCM syndrome scores and the levels of IL- 6 and TNF- α in the two groups were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05),and the TCM syndrome scores and the levels of IL-6 and TNF-α in the trial group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). The VAS scores after 1,3, and 5 days of treatment in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05),and the VAS scores after 3,and 5 days of treatment respectively in the trial group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). The incidence of adverse reactions in the trial group was lower than that in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion: coagulation of herbal decoction combined with western medicine has a definite curative effect for patients after low- temperature plasma radiofrequency ablation, and effectively relieve postoperative pain, reduce inflammatory factors, and shorten the time of wound healing, with high safety.
