Abstract：Objective：To observe the effect of Liangxue Xiehuo Xiaozhong Prescription combined with western medicine for superficial phlebitis and its effect on inflammatory factors in serum. Methods：A total of 75 cases of patients with superficial phlebitis were divided into the control group and the observation group according to the odd- even number grouping method， with 37 and 38 cases in each group respectively. The control group was treated with routine western medicine，and the observation group was additionally given Liangxue Xiehuo Xiaozhong Prescription based on the treatment of the control group. Before and after treatment，traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) syndrome scores，hemorrheology indexes and levels of inflammatory factors in serum were compared between the two groups. The clinical effects and incidence of adverse reactions were evaluated in the two groups. Results：The total effective rate was 92.11% in the observation group，higher than that of 72.97% in the control group (P＜0.05). After treatment， TCM syndrome scores，whole blood high shear viscosity，plasma viscosity，red cell aggregation，fibrinogen and tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P＜0.05)， and levels of interleukin- 10 (IL- 10) were increased (P＜0.05)； the TCM syndrome scores，indexes of hemorheology and TNF-α in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P＜0.05)，and the IL-10 was higher than that in the control group (P＜0.05). There was no adverse reaction in the two groups. Conclusion： Liangxue Xiehuo Xiaozhong Prescription combined with western medicine has a definite curative effect in treating superficial phlebitis， and can effectively relieve inflammatory responses，and improve hemorrheology with high safety.
