Abstract:Objective:To observe the clinical effect of modified Yiqi Yangxue Prescription for Parkinson disease (PD) with deficiency of qi and blood syndrome. Methods:A total of 123 cases of PD patients with deficiency of qi and blood syndrome were divided into the observation group and the control group according to the random number table method, with 61 and 62 cases in each group respectively. The observation group was treated with modified Yiqi Yangxue Prescription, and the control group was treated with routine western medicine. The clinical effects and the incidence of adverse reactions during treatment were compared between the two groups. Before and after treatment, traditional Chinese medicine syndrome scores and scores of Part Ⅲ in Unified Parkinson Disease Rating Scale (UPDRSⅢ) ,Scale for Outcomes in Parkinson disease for Autonomic Symptoms (SCOPA- AUT), Hamilton Depression Scale (HAMD) and Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) were compared between the two groups. Before treatment and at the 2nd and 4th week after treatment, the Cleveland Constipation Score (CCS) was compared between the two groups. Results:The total effective rate of treatment was 93.44% in the observation group, higher than that of 79.03% in the control group (P<0.05). Before treatment, there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) syndrome scores of body flutter, dull expression, intelligent degeneration, and laziness to talk between the two groups (P>0.05). After treatment, the above TCM syndrome scores in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05),and the scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). Before treatment, there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of scores of UPDRSⅢ,SCOPA-AUT,HAMD and PSQI between the two groups (P>0.05). After treatment, the scores of UPDRS Ⅲ, SCOPA- AUT, HAMD and PSQI in the two groups were decreased (P<0.05), and the scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). Before treatment, there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of CCS scores between the two groups (P>0.05). At the second and fourth week after treatment, the CCS scores in the two groups were gradually decreased (P<0.05),and the CCS score in the observation group was lower than that in the control group at the same time period (P<0.05). The total incidence of adverse reactions was 11.48% in the observation group, lower than that of 25.81% in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion: Modified Yiqi Yangxue Prescription for PD with deficiency of qi and blood syndrome can significantly improve the neurological function, gastrointestinal function, psychological status, and sleep quality, reduce the incidence of adverse reactions, and effectively improve the prognosis.
