Abstract: Due to the mistreatment of peripheral facial paralysis, the sequelae such as hemifacial spasm, crocodile lacrimal sign and associated movement are left, which affect the facial appearance of patients and cause serious psychological pressure to patients. A large number of studies have found that acupuncture such as filiform needle, moxibustion, electroacupuncture, point injection, acupoint catgut embedment,and filiform-heated needle has good effect and high safety on the treatment of sequelae of peripheral facial paralysis. To providea reference for the clinical treatment of the sequelae of peripheral facial paralysis, the authors systematically reviewed the studies on the pathogenesis and its treatment of acupuncture and moxibustion in recent years.
