Abstract: Objective: To observe the clinical effect of Huoxue Quyu Recipe combined with routine western medicine for acute upper gastrointestinal bleeding. Methods:A total of 80 cases of patients with acute upper gastrointestinal bleeding were selected as the study subjects, and divided into the control group and the observation group according to the random number table method, with 40 cases in each group. The control group was treated with routine western medicine, and the observation group was treated with Huoxue Quyu Recipe based on the treatment of the control group. The clinical effects in the two groups were evaluated. The clinical symptoms and signs and the incidence of adverse reactions in the two groups were counted. Before and after treatment, the changes in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) syndrome scores, coagulation indexes, gastric mucosal indexes, hemodynamic indexes were compared between the two groups. Results:The total effective rate was 95.00% in the observation group, higher than that of 80.00% in the control group (P<0.05). The complete hemostasis time and the disappearance time of abdominal pain in the observation group were earlier than those in the control group (P<0.05),and the drainage volume of gastric tube and the blood transfusion were less (P<0.05). After treatment,TCM syndrome scores, fibrinogen levels, and internal diameter, blood flow velocity and blood flow of portal vein in the two groups were lower than those before treatment, and the indexes in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05);the prothrombin time and thrombin time in the two groups were shorter than those before treatment, and the time in the observation group was shorter than that in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the pH values of fasting acid in the two groups were higher than those before treatment, and the value in the observation group was higher than that in the control group (P<0.05);the levels of gastrin and motilin in the two groups were lower than those before treatment, and the levels in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). There was no significant difference being found in the comparison of the total incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups (P>0.05). Conclusion: Huoxue Quyu Recipe combined with routine western medicine has a significant clinical effect in treating acute upper gastrointestinal bleeding, which can promote the recovery of coagulation function, improve hemodynamics, and shorten the disappearance time of clinical symptoms.
