Abstract: Objective: To observe the clinical effect of auricular acupoint pressing combined with acupoint application for insomnia after cerebral infarction. Methods: A total of 86 cases of patients with insomnia after cerebral infarction were divided into the control group and the study group according to the random number table method, with 43 cases in each group. The control group was treated with Estazolam Tablets, and the study group was additionally treated with auricular acupoint pressing combined with acupoint application based on the treatment of the control group. Both groups were treated for 4 weeks and followed up for 4 weeks. The clinical effects, the scores of Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI) and the recurrence rates of insomnia were compared between the two groups. Results: The total effective rate was 90.70% in the study group, higher than that of 72.09% in the control group(P<0.05). After treatment, PSQI scores in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05),and the PSQI score in the study group was lower than that in the control group(P<0.05). After 4 weeks of follow-up,the PSQI score in the control group was increased when compared with that before treatment, and higher than than in the study group(P<0.05);there was no significant difference being found in PSQI score in the study group when compared with that after treatment(P>0.05). After 4 weeks of follow- up, the recurrence rate was 7.69% in the study group, lower than that of 29.03% in the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion:The therapy of auricular acupoint pressing combined with acupoint application can effectively improve the sleep quality of patients with insomnia after cerebral infarction and reduce the recurrence of insomnia.
