Abstract： Objective： To observe the clinical effect of Wenxin Granules combined with western medicine for paroxysmal atrial fibrillation(PAF). Methods：A total of 70 cases of PAF patients were divided into two groups equally according to the random number table method. The control group was treated with Amiodarone， and Perindopril and Indapamide， and the treatment group was additionally treated with Wenxin Granules based on the treatment of the control group. Both groups were treated for six months. The New York Heart Association(NYHA) classification and echocardiogram indexes before and after treatment， and the clinical effects and incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results： The total effective rate was 82.86% in the treatment group， higher than that of 60.00% in the control group(P＜0.05). After treatment， the NYHA classification in the two groups were improved when compared with those before treatment(P＜0.05)， and the improvement of NYHA classification in the treatment group was better than that in the control group(P＜0.05). After treatment，the left ventricular end diastolic diameter(LVEDD) and left ventricular end- systolic dimension(LVESD) in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P＜0.05)，and the left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) was increased(P＜0.05)；the LVEDD and LVESD in the treatment group were smaller than those in the control group(P＜0.05)， and the LVEF was larger(P＜0.05). The incidence of adverse reactions was 8.57% in the treatment group， lower than that of 34.29% in the control group(P＜0.05). Conclusion： Wenxin Granules combined with western medicine has a significant curative effect in treating PAF and can improve heart function with high safety.
