Abstract: Objective: To observe the clinical effect of traction and tuina combined with lowtemperature plasma radiofrequency ablation for lumbar disc herniation. Methods: A total of 110 cases of patients with lumbar disc herniation were selected as the study objects and divided into the control group and the study group according to the random number table method, with 55 cases in each group. The control group was treated with low-temperature plasma radiofrequency ablation, and the study group was additionally treated with traction and tuina based on the treatment of the control group. Levels of interleukin- 17(IL- 17),interferon- γ(INF- γ),interleukin- 1β(IL- 1β) and scores of Oswestry Dysfunction Index(ODI), Visual Analog Scale(VAS), and Health Status Questionnaire(SF- 36) in the two groups before and after treatment were compared. Clinical effects and the recurrence rates within six months were evaluated in the two groups. Results:The total effective rate was 96.36% in the study group, higher than that of 81.82% in the control group(P<0.05). The recurrence rate was 7.55% in the study group, lower than that of 28.89% in the control group(P<0.05). After treatment, levels of IL- 7,INF- γ and IL- 1β in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05),and the three levels in the study group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05). After treatment, the scores of ODI and VAS in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment, and scores of ODI and VAS in the study group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05);scores of SF-36 in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05), and the score in the study group was higher than that in the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion: Traction and tuina combined with lowtemperature plasma radiofrequency ablation in treating patients with lumbar disc herniation can inhibit inflammatory responses, relieve pain, decrease the indexes of lumbar dysfunction and the recurrence rate, and improve lumbar function, clinical effects, and quality of life.
