Abstract： Objective： To observe the clinical effect of Yiqi Huayu Lishui Tang assisting Diosmine and Hydrochlorothiazide for upper limb lymphedema after breast cancer surgery. Methods：The clinical data of 50 patients with upper limb lymphedema after breast cancer surgery were retrospectively selected. According to their different treatment methods， the patients were divided into the study group and the control group， with 25 cases in each group. The control group was treated with Diosmin and Hydrochlorothiazide，and the study group was additionally treated with Yiqi Huayu Lishui Tang on the basis of the treatment of the control group. The clinical effects in the two groups were evaluated，and the selfperceived symptoms of lymphedema，upper limb function，the difference in upper arm circumference and pain degree in the two groups were compared. Results：The total clinical remission rate in the study group was better than that in the control group(P＜0.05). Before treatment， there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of scores of the Lymphedema and Breast Cancer Questionnaire(LBCQ) and the Disabilities of the Arm，Shoulder and Hand(DASH) between the two groups(P＞0.05). After treatment， the scores of LBCQ and DASH in the two groups were lower than those before treatment(P＜0.05)，and the two scores in the study group were lower than those in the control group(P＜0.05). Before treatment， there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of the difference in upper arm circumference between the two groups(P＞0.05). After treatment for two and four weeks，the difference in upper arm circumference in the two groups showed a downward trend when compared with that before treatment(P＜0.05)，and the difference of upper arm circumference in the study group was lower than that in the control group at the same time point(P＜0.05). Before treatment，there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of the difference in Visual Analogue Scale(VAS) for pain between the two groups(P＞0.05). After treatment for two and four weeks， VAS scores in the two groups showed a downward trend when compared with that before treatment(P＜0.05)， and the VAS score in the study group was lower than that in the control group at the same time point(P＜0.05). Conclusion： Yiqi Huayu Lishui Tang combined with Diosmin and Hydrochlorothiazide can improve the clinical effect of upper limb lymphedema after breast cancer surgery， improve the clinical symptoms and the function of upper limb， and relieve edema and pain.
