Abstract: Objective: To observe the clinical effect of Angong Niuhuang Pills for high fever after anterior communicating aneurysm rupture and hemorrhage. Methods:A prospective study was conducted on 68 patients with high fever after anterior communicating aneurysm rupture and hemorrhage. According to the random number table method, they were randomly divided into the control group and the treatment group, with 34 cases in each group. The control group was treated with symptomatic treatment such as routine cooling, reducing intracranial pressure, brain protection, preventing dehydration and providing nutritional support, and the treatment group was additionally treated with Angong Niuhuang Pills based on the treatment of the control group. Both groups were treated for three days, and if the fever did not abate after three days, patients kept taking medicine for two days, and the treatment course was not more than five days. The clinical effects, antipyretic time, length of hospital stay, and scores of National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale(NIHSS) before and after treatment were compared between the two groups. Results: The total effective rate was 97.06% in the treatment group, higher than that of 82.35% in the control group (P<0.05). The antipyretic time and length of hospital stay in the treatment group were shorter than those in the control group(P<0.05). Before treatment, there was no significant difference in the comparison of NIHSS score between the two groups(P>0.05). After treatment, the NIHSS scores in the two groups were decreased(P<0.05), and the score in the treatment group was lower than that in the control group(P< 0.05). Conclusion: Angong Niuhuang Pills is effective in treating high fever after anterior communicating aneurysm rupture and hemorrhage, which can effectively control the patient's body temperature, improve the neurological deficit and promote the rehabilitation.
