Abstract： Objective： To observe the clinical effect of Huoxue Tongluo Kaiqiao Tang combined with repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation(rTMS) for post- stroke cognitive impairment. Methods：A total of 80 cases of patients with post- stroke cognitive impairment were selected and divided into the observation group and the control group according to the random number table method，with 40 cases in each group. The control group was treated with rTMS，and the observation group was additionally treated with Huoxue Tongluo Kaiqiao Tang based on the treatment of the control group. Both groups were treated for 12 weeks. The clinical effects in the two groups were evaluated. Before and after treatment，the scores of Mini- Mental State Examination(MMSE) and Modified Barthel Index(MBI) in the two groups were compared. Results： The total effective rate was 95.00% in the observation group， higher than that of 80.00% in the control group， the difference being significant(P＜0.05). Before treatment， there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of scores of MMSE and MBI between the two groups (P＞0.05). After treatment， the scores of MMSE and MBI in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment(P＜0.05)， and the scores of MMSE and MBI in the observation group were higher than those in the control group(P＜0.05). Conclusion： Huoxue Tongluo Kaiqiao Tang combined with rTMS has a definite curative effect in treating post- stroke cognitive impairment，and can significantly improve cognitive function and activity of daily living.
