Abstract：Objective：To observe the effect of Cangfu Daotan Tang on sex hormone levels and ovarian volume in patients with polycystic ovary syndrome(PCOS). Methods：A total of 106 cases of PCOS patients were divided into the western medicine group and the combination group according to different treatment methods， with 53 cases in each group. The western medicine group was given oral administration of Clomiphene Citrate Tablets， and the combination group was treated with Cangfu Daotan Tang combined with Clomiphene Citrate Tablets. Before and after treatment，traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) syndrome scores， sex hormone levels including estrogen(E2)， luteinizing hormone(LH) and follicle stimulating hormone(FSH)， and ovarian volume in the two groups were compared. The clinical effects and ovulation rates were compared between the two groups. Results： Before treatment， there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of levels of E2，LH and FSH between the two groups(P＞0.05). After treatment，the E2 levels in the two groups were increased(P＜0.05)，and LH levels were decreased (P＜0.05)； the E2 level in the combination group was higher than that in the western medicine group(P＜ 0.05)，and LH level was lower(P＜0.05). After treatment，there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of FSH levels between the two groups(P＞0.05). After treatment，the total effective rate of treatment was 92.45% in the combination group，higher than that of 73.58% in the western medicine group (P＜0.05)； the ovulation rate was 90.57% in the combination group， higher than that of 71.70% in the western medicine group(P＜0.05). Before treatment，there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of TCM syndrome scores between the two groups(P＞0.05). After treatment， the TCM syndrome scores in the two groups were decreased(P＜0.05)，and the one in the combination group was lower than that in the western medicine group(P＜0.05). Before treatment， there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of ovarian volume between the two groups(P＞0.05). After treatment，the ovarian volume in the two groups was decreased(P＜0.05)，and the one in the combination group was smaller than that in the western medicine group(P＜0.05). Conclusion：Cangfu Daotan Tang for PCOS can effectively improve clinical symptoms，regulate sex hormone levels，decrease ovarian volume， and enhance ovulation rates with a significant curative effect.
