Abstract： Professor FAN Yongsheng holds that the internal causes of postpartum impediment are healthy qi deficiency and qi-blood insufficiency，the inducement is the invasion of wind，cold，dampness and other external pathogens，blood stasis is the most common pathological product of the disease，and the internal damage caused by the seven emotions can further aggravate the condition. In the clinical treatment of postpartum impediment by Professor FAN，good results can be achieved by taking Huangqi Guizhi Wuwu decoction as the main prescription， which will be modified according to the principles of tonifying but not stagnating，enriching but not cloying，dispelling wind and eliminating dampness but not over-drying，and invigorating blood and dissolving stasis but not damaging qi and blood.
