Abstract： Objective： To observe the clinical effect of the therapy of Shexiang Baoxin Pills combined with western medicine on unstable angina pectoris(UA) complicated with hypertension. Methods：A total of 86 UA patients with hypertension were divided into the control group and the observation group according to the random number table method， with 43 cases in each group. The control group was treated with western medicine，and the observation group was additionally treated with Shexiang Baoxin Pills based on the treatment of the control group. Both groups were treated for one month. The incidence of angina pectoris，clinical effects，blood pressure and vascular endothelial function index were compared between the two groups. Results： After treatment， the frequency of angina pectoris in the two groups was decreased when respectively compared with that before treatment(P＜0.05)， and the duration of angina pectoris was shortened(P＜0.05)； the frequency of angina pectoris attack in the observation group was lower than that in the control group(P＜0.05)，and the duration of angina pectoris was shorter(P＜0.05). The total effective rate was 83.72% in the observation group，higher than that of 65.12% in the control group (P＜0.05). After treatment，the systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P＜0.05)， and the systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P＜0.05). After treatment，the levels of endothelin-1(ET-1) in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P＜0.05)，and the levels of nitric oxide(NO) and endothelial dependent diastolic function (Flow Mediated Dilation，FMD) were increased when compared with those before treatment(P＜0.05)；the level of ET-1 in the observation group was lower than that in the control group(P＜0.05)，and the levels of NO and FMD in the observation group were higher than those in the control group(P＜0.05). Conclusion： The therapy of Shexiang Baoxin Pills combined with western medicine for UA patients with hypertension can stabilize blood pressure，improve vascular endothelial function and relieve angina pectoris.
