Abstract:Objective:To observe the curative effect of the therapy of Rougan Tongluo Tang combined with acupuncture at heel vessel on spastic paralysis of lower limbs after stroke. Methods : A total of 74 patients with spastic paralysis of lower limbs after stroke were selected and divided into the observation group and the control group according to the random number table method, with 37 cases in each group. The control group was treated with routine treatment of modern medicine , such as anti-platelet aggregation, lowering blood pressure and lipid and rehabilitation therapy, and the observation group was additionally treated with Rougan Tongluo Tang orally combined with acupuncture at heel vessel based on the treatment of the control group. Both groups were treated for two courses, two weeks being a course. After treatment, the clinical effects were compared between the two groups. Before and after treatment, the changes of muscle tension, limb motor function which was evaluated by Fugl-Meyer Assessment(FMA), scores of National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale(NIHSS), and scores of balance function, which was evaluated by Berg Balance Scale(BBS),were compared between the two groups. Results:The total clinical effective rate was 94.59% in the observation group and 75.68% in the control group, the difference being significant(P<0.05). After treatment, the grading of muscle tension in the two groups was superior to that before treatment, and the grading of the muscle tension in the observation group was superisr to that in the control group(P<0.05). After treatment, the scores of FMA and BBS in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment and the scores of NIHSS were decreased(P<0.05); after treatment, the scores of FMA and BBS in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, and the score of NIHSS in the observation group was lower, the differences being significant(P< 0.05). Conclusion:The therapy of Rougan Tongluo Tang combined with acupuncture at heel vessel has a good curative effect on spastic paralysis of lower limbs after stroke, which can effectively improve the muscle tension and severity of nerve defect, and enhance the limb motor function of lower limbs and balance function.
