Abstract:Objective:To observe the curative effect of Baihu and Guizhi Tang combined with etoricoxib for patients with acute gouty arthritis and its effect on inflammatory factors. Methods:A total of 80 cases of patients with acute gouty arthritis were randomly divided into the control group and the observation group, with 40 cases in each group. The control group was treated with etoricoxib, and the observation group was additionally treated with Baihu and Guizhi Tang based on the treatment of the control group. The changes in symptom scores and levels of uric acid(UA), erythrocyte sedimentation rate(ESR) and tumor necrosis factor- α(TNF- α) in the two groups were compared before and after treatment. The clinical effects in the two groups were compared. Results: After treatment, the symptom scores including joint pain, joint swelling and limited joint movement in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05); the above symptom scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05). After treatment, the levels of UA, ESR and TNF- α in serum in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05);the levels of UA,ESR and TNF-α in serum in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05). After treatment, the total effective rate was 95.00% in the observation group, higher than that of 80.00% in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion: Baihu and Guizhi Tang combined with etoricoxib for patients with acute gouty arthritis exert effects by effectively controling symptoms, relieving inflammatory responses and improving clinical efficacy.
