Abstract： Objective： To observe the clinical effect of acupuncture combined with modified Qilin prescription for male infertility. Methods：A total of 100 cases of male patients with infertility were selected and divided into the treatment group and the control group according to the random number table method， with 50 cases in each group. The control group was given the oral administration of modified Qilin prescription，and the treatment group was additionally treated with acupuncture based on the treatment of the control group. Both groups were treated for three months. The clinical effects in the two groups were observed. The changes in the results of semen analysis， hormone levels including luteinizing hormone (LH)，follicle stimulating hormone(FSH) and testosterone(T)，as well as Chinese medicine syndrome scores before and after treatment in the two groups were compared. Results：The clinical effect in the treatment group was better than that in the control group，the difference being significant(P＜0.05). After treatment， the values of semen volume，total sperm count，sperm density，sperm acrosin activity，grade A sperm motility and sperm activity rate in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment， and sperm abnormality rates were decreased， differences being significant(P＜0.05). After treatment， the values of semen volume， total sperm count， sperm density， sperm acrosin activity， grade A sperm motility and sperm activity rate in the treatment group were higher than those in the control group，and the sperm abnormality rate was lower，differences being significant(P＜0.05). After treatment， the levels of FSH， LH and T in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment，and the above three levels in the treatment group were higher than those in the control group， differences being significant(P＜0.05). After treatment， Chinese medicine syndrome scores in the groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment，and the Chinese medicine syndrome score in the treatment group was lower than that in the control group，the difference being significant(P＜0.05). Conclusion：The therapy of acupuncture combined with modified Qilin prescription can obviously improve the sperm quality and hormone levels of patients，relieve the clinical symptoms of Chinese medicine，and increase the fertility rate.
