Abstract：Objective：To investigate the effect of the therapy of Baishao Qiwu granules combined with Live combined Bifidobacterium， Lactobacillus and Enterococcus powder on serum inflammatory factors， malondialdehyde(MDA) level and superoxide dismutase(SOD) level in patients with ulcerative colitis. Methods：A total of 94 patients with ulcerative colitis were selected and divided into the control group and the observation group according to random number table method，with 47 cases in each group. The control group was additionally treated with Live combined Bifidobacterium， Lactobacillus and Enterococcus powder orally based on the conventional treatment，and the observation group was additionally treated with Baishao Qiwu granules orally based on the treatment of the control group. The treatment course was two months. The overall clinical effects and symptom scores， oxidative stress indexes， including MDA and SOD，and serum inflammatory factors，including C-reactive protein(CRP)，interleukin-6(IL-6) and tumor necrosis factor- α(TNF- α) before and after treatment in both groups were observed and compared. Results： After treatment， the clinical effect in the observation group was better than that in the control group，the difference being significant(P＜0.05). Before treatment，there was no significant difference in the comparison of MDA and SOD levels between the two groups(P＞0.05)； after treatment， the SOD levels in both groups were increased and the MDA levels were decreased(P＜0.05)，and the SOD level in the observation group was higher than that in the control group and the MDA level was lower(P＜0.05). Before treatment，there was no significant difference in the comparison of CRP，IL- 6 and TNF- α levels between the two groups(P＞0.05)；after treatment，the levels of CRP，IL-6 and TNF-α in the two groups were lower than those before treatment(P＜0.05)， and the levels of CRP， IL- 6 and TNF- α in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P＜0.05). Before treatment， there was no significant difference in the comparison of the symptom scores of abdominal pain， diarrhea， mucus purulent stool， tenesmus between the two groups(P＞0.05)； after treatment， the above four scores in both groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P＜0.05)， and the above four scores in the observation group were lower than that in the control group(P＜0.05). Conclusion：Based on conventional treatment， the application of Baishao Qiwu granules combined with Live combined Bifidobacterium，Lactobacillus and Enterococcus powder for ulcerative colitis can help to improve the levels of MDA and SOD， reduce the concentration of serum inflammatory factors， relieve relevant clinical symptoms.
