Abstract:Objective:To observe the effect of Luohua Zizhu capsules combined with western medicine on hemodynamics, liver function and recurrent bleeding rates in patients with upper gastrointestinal hemorrhage due to cirrhosis. Methods: A total of 86 cases of patients with upper gastrointestinal hemorrhage due to cirrhosis were selected and divided into the observation group and the control group according to their different treatment methods, with 45 and 41 cases in each group respectively. The observation group was treated with Luohua Zizhu capsules combined with propranolol hydrochloride tablets, and the control group was simply treated with propranolol hydrochloride tablets. The hemostatic time,hospitalization time,recurrent bleeding rates,and incidence of adverse reactions in the two groups were compared. Before and after treatment,the blood flow in portal vein and splenic vein,and the liver function indexes including alanine aminotransferase(ALT), aspartate aminotransferase(AST) and total bilirubin(TBil) in the two groups were compared. Results:The hemostatic time,hospitalization time in the observation group were shorter than those in the control group(P<0.05),the recurrent bleeding rates were lower(P<0.05). After treatment, the blood flow in portal vein and splenic vein in the two groups was decreased when compared with that before treatment(P<0.05), and the blood flow in portal vein and splenic vein in the observation group was less than that in the control group(P<0.05). After treatment,the levels of ALT,AST and TBil in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05), and the levels of ALT, AST and TBil in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05). The total incidence of adverse reactions was 11.11% in the observation group, lower than that of 34.15% in the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion:Luohua Zizhu capsules combined with western medicine for patients with upper gastrointestinal hemorrhage due to cirrhosis can effectively improve their hemodynamics with good hemostatic effect, significant recovery in liver function and low incidence of adverse reactions.
