Abstract： Objective： To observe the clinical effect of the therapy of modified Shengxue Runfu yin combined with routine western medicine on psoriasis of blood deficiency and wind- dryness type. Methods： A total of 76 patients with psoriasis of blood deficiency and wind- dryness type were selected and divided into the control group and the observation group according to the random number table method，with 38 cases in each group. The control group was treated with routine western medicine，and the observation group was additionally treated with modified Shengxue Runfu yin based on the treatment of the control group. The clinical effects were compared between the two groups. Before and after treatment， the Chinese medicine syndrome scores，skin lesions，pain，quality of life，immune function and levels of inflammatory factors in the two groups were detected. Results： After treatment， the Chinese medicine syndrome scores in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P＜ 0.05)， and the Chinese medicine syndrome score in the observation group was lower than that in the control group(P＜0.05). After treatment， the scores of Psoriasis Area and Severity Index(PASI)， Visual Analogue Scale(VAS) and Dermatology Life Quality Index(DLQI) were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P＜0.05)，and the above three scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P＜0.05). After treatment， the levels of CD4 + and CD4 +/CD8 + were increased when compared with those before treatment， and the levels of CD8 + were decreased(P＜0.05)； the levels of CD4+ and CD4+/CD8+ in the observation group were higher than those in the control group，and the level of CD8+ in the observation group was lower(P＜0.05). After treatment，the levels of serum interleukin- 6(IL- 6)，interleukin- 8(IL- 8) and tumor necrosis factor- α(TNF- α) were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P＜0.05)；the above three levels in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P＜0.05). Conclusion： The therapy of modified Shengxue Runfu yin combined with routine western medicine for psoriasis of blood deficiency and wind-dryness type can effectively reduce the clinical symptoms of patients，improve the skin lesions，alleviate the clinical symptoms of pruritus and pain，and enhance the quality of life.
