Abstract： Objective： To discuss the prescription and administration rules of LIU Zhouxian a famous doctor of the Republic of China in the treatment of epidemic eruptive disease. Methods：Prescriptions for epidemic eruptive disease in Zhouxian Cushu were collected， Traditional Chinese Medicine Inheritance Support System V2.5 was used to sum up the frequency qi and flavor meridian entry and effect categories of medication in treating epidemic eruptive disease by LIU；methods of association rules and complex system entropy clustering analysis were used to extract medicine combinations and evolve new prescriptions. Results： A total of 223 prescriptions were screened involving 227 kinds of medicinals. High- frequency medicinals included Radix et Rhizoma Glycyrrhizae， Radix Scutellariae， Fructus Arctii and so on. Heatclearing medicinals and deficiency-supplementing medicinals took up the majority. The qi of the medicinals were mostly cold and the flavors were mainly bitter and sweet. The main meridian entries of the medicinals were the lung meridian the spleen meridian and the stomach meridian. Commonly- used medicinals combinations included Fructus Forsythiae-Fructus Arctii and Radix Scutellariae-Radix et Rhizoma Glycyrrhizae. Based on complex system entropy clustering analysis 16 core medicinals combinations were derived and 8 new potential prescriptions were formed. Conclusion： In the treatment of epidemic eruptive disease LIU Zhouxian emphasized on clearing and releasing the exterior with pungent-cool medicinals venting pathogen and protecting yin to preserve fluids and the modified treatment with Xiaofeng powder Huaban tang Zhongman Fenxiao tang and other prescriptions was frequently used in clinical practice.
