Abstract: Objective: To observe the clinical effect of Bushen Jiangu prescription combined with bonesetting manipulation for lumbar disc herniation(LDH). Methods: A total of 60 cases of LDH patients were selected and divided into the control group and the treatment group according to the random number table method, with 30 cases in each group. The control group was treated with bonesetting manipulation, and the treatment group was additionally treated with Bushen Jiangu prescription based on the treatment of the control group. Chinese medicine syndrome scores, pain scores, and levels of β-endorphins(EP) before and after treatment as well as clinical effects were compared between the two groups. Results:The total effective rate was 93.33% in the treatment group, higher than that of 73.33% in the control group(P< 0.05). After treatment, the scores of Chinese medicine syndrome and VAS in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05), and the two scores in the treatment group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05). The excellent and good rate of pain improvement was 86.67% in the treatment group, higher than that of 60.00% in the control group(P<0.05). After treatment, levels of β-EP in plasma in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05),and the level of β-EP in the treatment group was higher than that in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion:Bushen Jiangu prescription combined with bonesetting manipulation has a defined clinical effect in the treatment of LDH,which can relieve clinical symptoms and pain.
