Clinical Study on Qifeng Jianzhong Oral Solution Combined with Imbedding Needle at Auricular Points for Children with Cough Variant Asthma with Syndrome of Lung- Spleen Qi Deficiency
Abstract: Objective: To observe the clinical effect of the therapy of Qifeng Jianzhong oral solution combined with imbedding needle at auricular points on children with cough variant asthma with syndrome of lung-spleen qi deficiency. Methods:A total of 62 children with cough variant asthma were selected and divided into the Chinese medicine group and the combination group according to random number table, with 31 cases in each group. The two groups were treated with self-made Qifeng Jianzhong oral solution, and the combination group was additionally treated with imbedding needle at auricular points. The treatment course of both groups was eight weeks. The clinical effects in the two groups were compared, and the changes of the scores of main symptom of cough, fractional exhaled nitric oxide(FeNO) and immune index (IgE) were observed before and after treatment. Results: The total effective rate was 80.65% in the Chinese medicine group and 87.10% in the combination group, there being no significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05). After treatment, the scores of main symptom of cough in both groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment, differences being significant(P<0.05). After treatment, the score of main symptom of cough in the combination group was lower than that in the Chinese medicine group, the difference being significant(P<0.05). After treatment, the levels of FeNO in both groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment, and there was significant difference in the level of FeNO in the combination group before and after treatment(P<0.05). After treatment, the level of FeNO in the two groups, the difference being no significant(P>0.05). There was no significant difference in the level of IgE between the two groups before and after treatment(P>0.05). Conclusion: The therapy of Qifeng Jianzhong oral solution combined with imbedding needle at auricular points has a good clinical effect on the treatment of children with cough variant asthma with syndrome of lung-spleen qi deficiency, which can improve the symptoms of cough in children, effectively curb airway inflammatory products and reduce the onset of acute respiratory tract inflammation.
