Abstract： Jiangxue Danshu is said to be a treatise on syndrome differentiation and treatment of obstetrics， which was compiled by ZHAO Zhenguan， a physician in the Ming Dynasty. There are four topics in the book， including pregnancy syndromes， childbirth syndromes， postpartum syndromes and appendix. Jiangxue Danshu is of the following academic characteristics：proven methods of pulse formula are of high value；prescriptions for preventing miscarriage are underlined and listed，and attention is paid to the syndrome differentiation and treatment of preventing miscarriage； the use of Shenghua tang is appropriately modified；each postpartum symptom is treated based on syndrome differentiation；there are various preparation forms； both the interior and exterior are taken into consideration in the syndrome differentiation and treatment；four general remarks are expounded and labor instructions are emphasized.
