Abstract:Objective:To observe the clinical effect of the therapy of ultrasound- guided paravertebral never block combined with acupotomy on postherpetic neuralgia(PHN). Methods:A total of 82 patients with PHN were divided into the observation group and the control group by simple randomization, with 41 cases in each group. The control group was treated with gabapentin combined with mecobalamin, and the observation group was treated with ultrasound-guided paravertebral nerve block combined with acupotomy. Both groups were treated for four weeks and followed up for six months. The clinical effects, scores of pain before and after treatment and during six months of follow-up,as well as scores of quality of life and sleep before and after treatment were compared between the two groups. Results:The total effective rate was 92.68% in the observation group, higher than that of 75.60% in the control group(P<0.05). After treatment and during six months of follow- up, the scores of Numeric Rating Scale(NRS) in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05),and the score of NRS in the observation group was lower than that in the control group at the same period respectively(P<0.05). After treatment, the scores of Dermatology Life Quality Index(DLQI) and Athens Insomnia Scale(AIS) in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05), and the above two scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion: The therapy of ultrasound-guided paravertebral nerve block combined with acupotomy has a good curative effect on PHN, which can relieve pain and improve quality of life and sleep of patients, with stable long-term effect.
