Abstract：Objective：To observe the clinical effect of Yishen Jiangu granules combined with thermal moxibustion on knee osteoarthritis(KOA) with syndrome of kidney deficiency and blood stasis. Methods：A total of 88 KOA patients with syndrome of kidney deficiency and blood stasis were selected and divided into the treatment group and the control group by random number table method，with 44 cases in each group. The control group was treated with thermal moxibustion，and the treatment group was treated with Yishen Jiangu granules combined with thermal moxibustion. Both groups were treated for one month. The scores of Lysholm knee function，the scores of Visual Analogue Scale(VAS) and the levels of inflammatory factors before and after treatment as well as the clinical effect were compared between the two groups. Results： After treatment，the scores of Lysholm knee function in both groups were increased when compared with those before treatment(P＜0.05)， and the VAS scores were decreased(P＜0.05)； the score of Lysholm knee function in the treatment group was higher than that in the control group(P＜0.05)，and the VAS score was lower(P＜0.05). After treatment，the levels of interleukin- 1(IL- 1)，tumor necrosis factor- α(TNF- α) and prostaglandin E2(PGE2) in both groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P＜0.05)，and the levels of IL-1，TNF-α and PGE2 in the treatment group were lower than those in the control group(P＜0.05). The total effective rate was 97.73% in the treatment group， higher than that of 84.09% in the control group(P＜0.05). Conclusion： Yishen Jiangu granules combined with thermal moxibustion for KOA with syndrome of kidney deficiency and blood stasis can effectively improve the knee joint function，relieve pain and inhibit inflammatory reactions of patients.
