Abstract： Objective： To observe the clinical effect of Banxia Baizhu Tianma tang combined with Huanglian Wendan tang for patients with dizziness related to hypertension. Methods：A total of 82 cases of patients with dizziness related to hypertension were randomly divided into the observation group and the control group，with 41 cases in each group. The control group was treated with losartan potassium tablets， metoprolol tartrate tablets and other routine western medicine. The observation group was treated with Banxia Baizhu Tianma tang combined with Huanglian Wendan tang. Both groups were treated for 14 days. Changes in blood pressure and scores of Dizziness Handicap Inventory(DHI) in the two groups before and after treatment were observed and compared. Incidence of adverse reactions in the two groups during treatment was counted. Results：Before treatment，there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of systolic blood pressure(SBP) and diastolic blood pressure(DBP) between the two groups(P＞ 0.05). After treatment，SBP and DBP in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P＜0.05)，and SBP and DBP in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P＜0.05). Before treatment， there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of DHI scores between the two groups(P＞0.05). After treatment，DHI scores in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P＜0.05)，and DHI score in the observation group was lower than that in the control group(P＜0.05). The incidence of adverse reactions was 7.32% in the observation group and 24.39% in the control group， the difference being significant(P＜0.05). Conclusion： Banxia Baizhu Tianma tang combined with Huanglian Wendan tang has a definite curative effect in the treatment of dizziness related to hypertension；it can effectively down regulate blood pressure，and improve dizziness symptom，with a better curative effect than that of routine western medicine treatment.
