Abstract：Objective：To observe the effect of the therapy of Yishen Paidu tang on kidney function and electrolytes in patients with chronic renal failure(CRF). Methods： A total of 80 patients with CRF were selected and divided into the control group and the observation group according to different treatment methods，with 40 cases in each group. The control group was treated with routine treatment of western medicine， and the observation group was additionally treated with Yishen Paidu tang based on the treatment of the control group. The levels of kidney function， blood lipid， inflammatory factors and electrolytes before and after treatment and the clinical effects were compared between the two groups. Results：The total effective rate was 87.50% in the observation group，higher than that of 67.50% in the control group(P＜0.05). After treatment， the levels of blood urea nitrogen(BUN)， serum creatinine(SCr)， 24- hour urine protein， total cholesterol(TC)， triglyceride(TG)， low- density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDLC)， interleukin-6(IL-6)，interleukin-17(IL-17)，C-reactive protein(CRP)，potassium ion(K+ )，chloride ion (Cl- ) and phosphorus ion(P3- ) in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment， and the levels of calcium ion(Ca2 + ) were increased(P＜0.05)； after treatment， the levels of BUN， SCr， 24- hour urine protein， TC， TG， LDL- C， IL- 6， IL- 17， CRP， K + ， Cl- and P3- in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P＜0.05)， and the level of Ca2 + in the observation group was higher(P＜0.05). Conclusion：The therapy of Yishen Paidu tang has a good curative effect on CRF，which can enhance the kidney function，improve the level of blood lipid，reduce the levels of inflammatory factors，and restore the levels of electrolytes.
