Abstract: Objective: To observe the effect of the therapy of ABC emotional nursing combined with point massage on sleep quality and psychological state of patients after breast cancer operation. Methods: A total of 82 patients who received breast cancer operation were divided into two groups according to the random number table method, with 41 cases in each group. Both groups were treated with radical mastectomy and routine treatment measures and nursing interventions after operation,such as antibiotic prophylaxis and endocrine therapy. The study group was treated with ABC emotional nursing combined with point massage. Both groups were intervened until patients were discharged. Before treatment(at admission) and after treatment(at discharge), the sleep quality and psychological state in the two groups were evaluated by the scores of Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI) and Symptom Checklist- 90(SCL- 90) respectively. Results: After treatment, the scores of sleep latency, sleep quality, sleep time, sleep disorder,sleep efficiency and daytime function of PSQI in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment,the above six scores in the study group were lower than those in the control group,differences being significant(P<0.05). The scores of nine factors of SCL-90,including obsessive- compulsive, depression, somatization, interpersonal sensitivity, anger- hostility, anxiety, phobicanxiety, psychoticism and paranoid ideation,and the total scores in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment,the above nine scores and the total score in the study group were lower than those in the control group,differences being significant(P<0.01). Conclusion:The therapy of ABC emotional nursing combined with point massage can help improve the sleep quality and psychological state of patients after breast cancer operation.
