Abstract： Objective： To observe the clinical effect of the therapy of puerarin injection combined with irbesartan on primary hypertension of type of static blood obstructing the internal. Methods： A total of 60 patients with primary hypertension were selected and divided into the control group and the observation group according to random number table method， with 30 cases in each group. The control group was treated with irbesartan， and the observation group was additionally treated with puerarin injection based on the treatment of control group. Both groups were treated for eight weeks. The blood pressure， Chinese medicine syndrome scores and clinical effects were compared between the two groups. Results：After treatment， the levels of 24 h mean systolic blood pressure and 24 h mean diastolic blood pressure in both groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P＜0.05)，and the above two levels in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P＜0.05). After treatment， the scores of stabbing headache， chest oppression，palpitation and numbness of hands and feet in both groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P＜0.05)，and the above scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P＜0.05). The total effective rate was 96.67% in the observation group， higher than that of 73.33% in the control group(P＜0.05). Conclusion： The therapy of puerarin injection combined with irbesartan has a great therapeutic effect on the treatment of primary hypertension of type of static blood obstructing the internal，which can effectively control blood pressure and improve clinical symptoms.
