Abstract：Objective：To observe the clinical effect of Dachengqi tang combined with glucocorticoid on acute respiratory distress syndrome(ARDS) and its effect on levels of interleukin in serum. Methods：A total of 114 patients with ARDS were randomly divided into the control group and the study group，with 57 cases in each group. Both groups received mechanical ventilation and nutritional support and other routine interventions. The control group was additionally treated with glucocorticoid，and the study group was additionally treated with glucocorticoid combined with Dachengqi tang. Both groups were treated for three with courses，with seven days being one course. The total clinical rate，average mechanical ventilation time， average length of hospital stay and levels of interleukin- 6(IL- 6)， interleukin- 10(IL- 10)， interleukin- 13(IL- 13) and interleukin-18(IL-18) in serum were observed and compared between the two groups. Results：The total effective rate was 91.2% in the study group and 75.4% in the control group， the difference being significant(P＜0.05). After treatment， the average mechanical ventilation and average length of hospital stay in the study group were shorter than those in the control group，the difference being significant(P＜0.05). After treatment，the levels of IL-6，IL-10，IL-13 and IL-18 in serum in the two groups were significantly decreased when compared with those before treatment(P＜0.05)，and the above levels in the study group were lower than those in the control group(P＜0.05). Conclusion：The therapy of Dachengqi tang combined with glucocorticoid for ARDS patients can significantly improve the clinical effect，shorten the mechanical ventilation time and recovery time，and effectively reduce the levels of serum inflammatory factors.
