Abstract："The disease has ups and downs，and the acupuncture has superficial and deep". The efficacy of acupuncture is not only related to the selection of acupuncture points，manipulation，stimulation time and treatment course，but also the superficial and deep acupuncture of acupuncture points can affect the efficacy.In clinical practice，it has been found that the superficial and deep acupuncture points can affect the treatment and prognosis of the disease， but is often overlooked by clinical practitioners. In this paper，the author present an example of Zusanli （ST36），a commonly used acupuncture point in clinic，to explore the effects and differences of superficial and deep acupuncture at Zusanli or Zusanli combined with other acupuncture points in the treatment of different diseases，so as to provide a theoretical basis for the practical significance and research value of "superficial and deep acupuncture" in clinic.
