Abstract：Objective：To observe the clinical effect of Wenyang Buxin tang combined with western medicine for chronic heart insufficiency of heart-kidney yang deficiency type and its effects on exercise endurance and heart function. Methods：A total of 100 cases of patients with chronic heart insufficiency of heart-kidney yang deficiency type were selected and divided into the control group and the observation group according to the random number table method，with 50 cases in each group. The control group was treated with routine western medicine， and the observation group was additionally treated with Wenyang Buxin tang based on the treatment of the control group. Chinese medicine syndrome scores， 6- min walking distance，exercise endurance indexes and heart function indexes before and after treatment as well as clinical effects were compared between the two groups. Results：After treatment，the total effective rate was 88.00% in the observation group， higher than that of 66.00% in the control group(P＜0.05). Compared with those in the same group before treatment， the levels of Chinese medicine syndrome scores，carbon dioxide ventilation equivalent slope(VE/VCO2 slope)，left atrial diameter (LAD)，left ventricular end systolic diameter(LVESD)，left ventricular end diastolic diameter(LVEDD) and N-terminal B-type natriuretic peptide(NT-proBNP) in the two groups decreased(P＜0.05). The 6-min walking distance，peak oxygen consumption (peak VO2)， oxygen consumption at anaerobic threshold(VO2 AT)， maximum exercise power， maximum exercise time， cardiac index(CI) and left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF) were increased(P＜0.05). After treatment， Chinese medicine syndrome scores，6-min walking distance，exercise endurance indexes and heart function indexes in the observation group were improved more significantly than those in the control group(P＜0.05). Conclusion：Wenyang Buxin tang combined with western medicine has a defined curative effect in the treatment of chronic heart insufficiency of heart-kidney yang deficiency type and can effectively improve exercise endurance and heart function.
