Abstract：The method of guiding qi and unblocking collaterals is created by Prof. GAO Hong，a famous Chinese medicine practitioner in Zhejiang Province，in order to treat tinnitus. It is an organic combination of the two methods which are guiding qi and unblocking collaterals， and it has a remarkable clinical effect on tinnitus. The method of guiding qi is to apply acupuncture to the three points around ears(Cong'er，Tinggong，Tinghui points) to make the needling sensation transmitted to the auditory meatus， and with the emphasis on the channel qi being transmitted and sensed， the curative effect is improved. The method of unblocking collaterals is a comprehensive therapy，in which the warming- needle moxibustion at the three around- ears points，abdominal acupuncture and flash cupping near the mastoid process are applied. In this way， channels and collaterals are dredged and unblocked and ears are moistened and nourished，leading to sufficient blood supply of inner ear. The method of guiding qi and unblocking collaterals adjuvant with nine needles to regulate the spirit and earfortifying exercises for daily healthcare，can effectively enhance the curative effect.
