Abstract:Objective:To observe the clinical effect of warming needle combined with Qingre Tongbi tang for acute attack of lumbar disc herniation and its effect on the scores of Japanese Orthopaedic Association(JOA) evaluation treatment, Present Pain Intensity(PPI) and Visual Analogue Scale(VAS). Methods:A total of 98 cases of patients with acute attack stage of lumbar disc herniation were selected and divided into the control group and the study group according to the random number table method, with 49 cases in each group. The control group was treated with warming needle, and the study group was additionally treated with Qingre Tongbi tang based on the treatment of the control group. Both groups were treated for two weeks. The changes in the scores of JOA,PPI and VAS before and after treatment as well as the clinical effects in the two groups were compared. Results:The total effective rate of clinical effect was 91.84% in the study group and 73.47% in the control group, the difference being significant(P<0.05). After two weeks of treatment,JOA scores in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment, and the JOA score in the study group was higher than that in the control group, differences being significant(P<0.05). After two weeks of treatment,PPI scores in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment, and the PPI score in the study group was lower than that in the control group, differences being significant(P<0.05). After two weeks of treatment, VAS scores in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment, and the VAS score in the study group was lower than that in the control group, differences being significant(P<0.05). Conclusion: The therapy of warming needle combined with Qingre Tongbi tang has a definite curative effect on lumbar disc herniation at acute attack stage, which can improve the clinical symptoms and enhance the analgesic effect.
