Abstract: Objective: To observe the clinical effect of acupuncture combined with Tianwang Buxin pellet for perimenopausal insomnia of non-interaction between heart and kidney type. Methods:A total of 104 cases of patients with perimenopausal insomnia of non-interaction between heart and kidney type were selected and divided into the control group and the observation group according to the random number table method,with 52 cases in each group. The control group was treated with the oral administration with Tianwang Buxin pellet,and the observation group was additionally treated with acupuncture based on the treatment of the control group. Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI) scores and Chinese medicine syndrome scores were compared between the two groups before and after treatment. The levels of sex hormones[luteinizing hormone(LH), estradiol(E2), follicle stimulating hormone(FSH)] were detected before and after treatment, and the clinical effects were evaluated. Results:The total effective rate was 92.31% in the observation group,higher than that of 76.92% in the control group, the difference being significant(P<0.05). Before treatment, there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of scores of PSQI and Chinese medicine syndrome between the two groups(P>0.05). After treatment,scores of PSQI and Chinese medicine syndrome in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05),and the above two scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, differences being significant(P<0.05). Before treatment,there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of levels of LH, E2 and FSH between the two groups(P>0.05). After treatment, E2 in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment,and LH and FSH were decreased(P<0.05);E2 in the observation group was higher than that in the control group, and LH and FSH were lower(P<0.05). Conclusion: Acupuncture combined with Tianwang Buxin pellet has a relatively good curative effect on perimenopausal insomnia of non- interaction between heart and kidney type,which can effectively improve symptoms of insomnia and regulate the levels of estrogen secretion.
