Effect of Acupuncture for Regulating Qi and Unblocking Fu-Organs on Postoperative Gastrointestinal Function Recovery of Patients After Radical Gastrectomy for Gastric Cancer
Abstract : Objective : To observe the effect of acupuncture for regulating qi and unblocking fu- organs on the postoperative gastrointestinal function recovery of patients after radical gastrectomy for gastric cancer. Methods:A total of 80 patients after radical gastrectomy for gastric cancer were selected and divided into the control group and the experiment group according to random number table method, with 40 cases in each group. The control group was treated with conventional treatment, and the experiment group was additionally treated with acupuncture for regulating qi and unblocking fu-organs based on the treatment of the control group. The basic recovery after surgery and the changes in Chinese medicine syndrome scores and levels of gastrin(GAS), motilin(MTL), vasoactive intestinal peptide(VIP), peripheral T cell subsets (CD3 +,CD4 +,CD4 +/CD8 + ) and natural killer cells(NK) before and after treatment were compared between the two groups. Results:After treatment, the time of first feeding, first farting, first defecation and hospital stay in the experiment group were significantly shorter than those in the control group(P<0.05). After treatment, the Chinese medicine syndrome scores and GAS levels in the two groups were significantly decreased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05),and the above two indexes in the experiment group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05). After treatment, the levels of MTL,VIP,CD3+,CD4+,CD4+/CD8+ and NK cells in both groups were significantly increased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05),and the above levels in the experiment group were higher than those in the control group (P<0.05);there were no serious adverse reactions in both groups. Conclusion:Acupuncture for regulating qi and unblocking fu- organs has a significant effect on the gastrointestinal function recovery of patients after radical gastrectomy for gastric cancer, which can effectively relieve clinical symptoms, regulate gastrointestinal hormones and immune function, and promote gastrointestinal function recovery.
