Abstract： Objective： To observe the clinical effect of Huoxue Quyu prescription combined with acupuncture on the treatment of cerebral infarction. Methods： A total of 66 patients with cerebral infarction were selected as the research objects， and divided into the control group and the study group by random number table method， with 33 cases in each group. Both groups were given basic treatment after admission. The control group was additionally treated with acupuncture apart from the basic treatment， and the study group was additionally treated with Huoxue Quyu prescription based on the treatment of the control group. Both groups were treated for two courses， three months being one course. The clinical effects， neurological function and limb function before and after treatment were compared between the two groups. Results： The total effective rate was 90.91% in the study group， higher than that of 75.76% in the control group， the difference being significant(P＜0.05). Before treatment， there was no significant difference in Barthel Index and National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale(NIHSS) between the two groups(P＞0.05). After treatment，the levels of Barthel index in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment，and the level in the study group was higher than that in the control group(P＜0.05). After treatment，the NIHSS scores in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment，and the score in the study group was lower than that in the control group(P＜0.05). Conclusion：The therapy of Huoxue Quyu prescription combined with acupuncture has a significant clinical effect on the treatment of cerebral infarction， which is beneficial to improving the neurological function of patients， restoring their self- care ability， and improving the quality of life.
