Abstract:Objective:To observe the clinical effect of thunder- fire moxibustion combined with acupuncture for chronic fatigue syndrome(CFS). Methods:A total of 80 cases of CFS patients were selected and divided into the control group and the observation group according to the random number table method, with 40 cases in each group. Among them,4 cases were excluded in the observation group and 2 cases in the control group. The control group was treated with acupuncture, and the observation group was treated with thunder-fire moxibustion combined with acupuncture. Both groups were treated for three weeks. The scores of Fatigue Scale-14(FS-14),Depression Status Inventory(DSI) and Self-Rating Anxiety Scale(SAS) before and after treatment and the clinical effects in the two groups were compared. Results: After treatment, the scores of physical fatigue and mental fatigue and the total scores in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05), and the above scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05). After treatment, the scores of DSI and SAS in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05), and the scores of DSI and SAS in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05). The total effective rate was 94.4% in the observation group and 86.8% in the control group, there was no significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05). Conclusion:The application of thunder-fire moxibustion combined with acupuncture has a better curative effect for CFS, which can effectively relieve symptoms of fatigue and improve negative emotions including anxiety and depression.
