Abstract：Valley union needling is one of the five acupuncture methods in Chapter Guanzhen of Lingshu，and it is also the most widely used in Qihuang needle therapy. It is emphasized that valley union needling should be adjusted in different directions， angles and depths according to the location， nature and extent of the disease. For example， the directions of valley union needling should be determined according to the purpose of needling stimulation；the angles should be adjusted based on the extent of the disease， and the depths should be chosen according to the location of the disease， so as to achieve the therapeutic purpose of "regulating qi with changes".
