Abstract:Objective: To observe the clinical effect of Qiming granules on non-proliferative diabetic retinopathy(NPDR). Methods:A total of 102 NPDR patients were randomly divided into the control group and the study group,51 cases in each group. The control group was treated with calcium hydroxobenzene sulfonate and the study group with Qiming granules. After six-month treatment, the clinical effect and the incidence of adverse reactions were observed and compared between the two groups; the levels of inflammatory cytokines including intercellular adhesion molecule- 1(ICAM- 1), tumor necrosis factor- α(TNF- α),hypersensitive C- reactive protein(hs- CRP) and adiponectin(ADPN) in serum were compared before and after treatment in both groups. Results:The total effective rate was 98.0% in the study group, and 58.8% in the control group, the difference being significant(P<0.05). Before treatment, there was no significant difference in the comparison of the levels of ICAM- 1, TNF- α and hs- CRP between the two groups(P>0.05). After treatment, the levels of ICAM- 1, TNF- α and hs-CRP in both groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05), and the above two levels in the study group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05). Before treatment, there was no significant difference in the comparison of the AFPN level between the two groups(P>0.05). After treatment, the AFPN levels in both groups were increased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05), and the above two levels in the study group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05). The incidence of adverse reactions was 3.9% in the observation group and 35.3% in the control group, the difference being significant(P<0.05). Conclusions: Qiming granules can effectively inhibit the inflammatory response of the body, improve the level of ADPN,and reduce the incidence of adverse reactions in NPDR patients, whose effect is safe and reliable.
